The 2nd Seminar on Safety Upgrades and Technological Innovation of Electrical Equipment in the Coal Chemical Industry took place in Yulin, Shaanxi on August 29‑30, 2026. Co‑hosted by the Process Industry Branch of the China Mechatronics Technology Application Association and Zhongneng Shuzhi Anke Engineering Technology Research Institute, the conference gathered experts, scholars and enterprise representatives across coal chemical and petrochemical sectors. Centered on “Digital Intelligence Empowering Electrical Safety, Innovation Driving Coal Chemical Industry Upgrades”, participants from CNPC, Sinopec, CHN Energy and other key enterprises and design institutes exchanged views on relevant policies, industrial pain points, cutting‑edge technologies and engineering practices, building a platform for technical exchange and project cooperation. Invited to the event, Acrel Electric (300286) exhibited its full‑set integrated solutions for electrical protection, power quality control and intelligent energy management. Highlighted offerings included the flexible reverse power flow protection solution built around AM5SE protection relays, ACCU microgrid controller and EMS energy management platform, as well as the “cloud‑platform‑plus‑hardware” distribution upgrade package combining AcrelEMS, APView500, ANAPF, ANSVG and other core products, to support safe, stable and efficient power operation for chemical plants. As the core node of the distribution network in power systems, 35kV substations face temperature anomalies on critical components such as high-voltage switchgears and line connectors, which constitute one of the major causes of power accidents. Combining the technical characteristics of Acrel wireless temperature measurement system and practical temperature monitoring requirements for 35kV substations, this paper analyzes the necessity and working principle of applying Acrel wireless temperature measurement technology. It elaborates the overall system architecture, hardware & software configuration and on-site implementation scheme deployed in substations. Field tests and operational verification prove its performance in temperature measurement accuracy, fault early warning and emergency handling. This research provides practical references for intelligent temperature monitoring and safe, stable operation of 35kV substations.

Arc-flash faults in switchgear assemblies are among the most severe types of failures. The resulting arc light can easily damage other components, leading to accident escalation and often causing significant economic losses. Arc-flash protection, by monitoring both arc light intensity and current variations, can promptly isolate faults, providing effective protection and reducing economic losses. This paper introduces the application and configuration schemes of the ARB series arc-flash protection devices for busbars in low-voltage power distribution systems, as well as for critical individual cubicles such as capacitor compensation cabinets and active filter cabinets. From this, the necessity of installing arc-flash protection becomes readily apparent.

To prevent fires caused by high temperatures arising from loose wire joints, cable aging and other issues, which may lead to enormous economic losses, it is essential to implement safe temperature monitoring and intelligent control for electrical equipment. Typical monitoring locations include high-current cable joints, locally overheating sections of power equipment, moving and static contacts in switchgear, incoming and outgoing busbar joints, electrical contacts in rectifier cabinets, transformer connection points, and critical electrical joints in substations or outdoor power circuits. Under the "Dual Carbon" goals, the combination of photovoltaic power and alkaline water electrolysis for hydrogen production has become a core pathway for integrating renewable energy and achieving deep decarbonization in industry. The intermittent nature of wind and solar power generation, high-power rectification harmonics, the flammable and explosive nature of hydrogen, and the risk of high-current DC leakage are the four major challenges in the electrical design of hydrogen production stations.
