Acrel APD300-W Wireless Partial Discharge Sensor
2026-07-16
The APD300-W is a wireless 3-in-1 partial discharge (PD) sensor designed for online condition monitoring of medium-voltage switchgear. Integrating Acoustic Emission (AE), Transient Earth Voltage (TEV), and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) detection technologies, it provides comprehensive PD monitoring for early identification of insulation defects and potential equipment failures. Powered by a built-in replaceable lithium battery with a typical service life of 3–4 years, the sensor communicates wirelessly via LoRa, eliminating the need for communication wiring and enabling fast, non-intrusive installation using a magnetic mounting method. In addition to PD detection, the APD300-W monitors ambient temperature, humidity, and noise to support accurate equipment condition assessment. It is widely used in ring main units, metal-clad switchgear, and other MV distribution equipment across power utilities, industrial plants, data centers, renewable energy facilities, and transportation systems, helping improve operational reliability while reducing maintenance costs and unplanned downtime.
